Introduction |
|
The name
and trademarks of TRUCK ADS are valuable intellectual property
assets. Our trademark is important because the TRUCKADS®
and TRUCK ADS® mark serves to identify us as a source of
advertising services on the sides of trucks as well as providing
products for the outdoor advertising industry. This includes
TRUCK ADS® Frame Kits and our premium outdoor banners. Our
trademarks provide TRUCK ADS certain legal rights that can
be lost through inappropriate use or misuse. That is why
you must read and follow our trademark guidelines below.
See General
Do's and Don'ts Below
Important: Follow these guidelines carefully. Failure to
follow these Trademark Guidelines, subjects your company
to
legal liability and immediate
cancellation as a resell vendor.

What are Trademarks |
|
A trademark
is a word, acronym, logo, logotype, name, symbol, design,
tagline, slogan or phrase that identifies a product or service
and distinguishes it from similar products or services offered
by others involved in interstate commerce. Consequently,
TRUCK ADS trademarks are valuable because they represent
the standards of excellence and consistent high quality
associated with TRUCK ADS® services and products.
For a list of TRUCK ADS trademarks, see
trademarks and nouns list
below.

|
Why We Protect the TRUCKADS®
and TRUCK ADS® Trademarks |
|
Without trademarks,
consumers would not be able to distinguish services and
products provided by various companies. Businesses would
not be able to build brand names in the market place and
stand apart from their competitors. For these reasons, it
is important to understand the importance of TRUCK ADS trademarks and what we and you must do to protect them.
The owner of a valid trademark may prevent others from using
its mark for particular goods or services and may recover
monetary damages caused by another's infringement. However,
trademarks must be used properly and consistently. Otherwise
the trademark risks becoming generic, making the mark impossible
to enforce. This is what happened to the zipper, harmonica,
cellophane, yo-yo and kerosene trademarks. This is not going
to happen to TRUCKADS®.

Always Use Trademarks
as an Adjective |
|
Always
Use Trademarks as an adjective, followed by the appropriate
noun (descriptors). Trademarks are adjectives that describe
a specific person, place or thing. Using a trademark as
an adjective avoids using the trademark in a generic sense.
In general, a sentence should make sense with or without
the trademark. For a list of appropriate nouns, see our
trademark and nouns list.

Always Use the Proper
Registration "®" or Symbol "™" |
|
The ® symbol
must be used with all of TRUCK ADS registered trademarks.
The trademarks in the body of any text and the heading of
any text must be followed by the ® symbol. If the formatted
® symbol is not available to you, simply cut and paste the
symbol from this page into your website or word document
or you may place this html code ®
into your page and the symbol will appear. Do not include
a space before the trademark symbol or use italics for the
trademark symbol, regardless of the format of text that
precedes it. These are minimum requirements for the use
of our trademarks. EXAMPLE OF MARK: TRUCKADS® AND TRUCK

Always Respect Third-Party
Trademarks |
|
TRUCK ADS respects third-party Trademarks. If you use another
company's Trademarks including TRUCK ADS® or TRUCKADS®,
you must use the appropriate Trademark symbol. When third-party
Trademarks are mentioned and there are no specific
trademark attribution
guidelines in effect, always use a generic third-party Trademark
attribution. The Web site maintained by the third-party
is a good place to look for its Trademark Guidelines. You
need only mark the third-party Trademark if you have information
that it is, in fact, a Trademark.
