1. How much money can I make as a Licensed Affiliate? The opportunity in truckside advertising and fleet graphics is enormous. TruckAds® is here to help you succeed in this business. You're selling a service that is working and making money for you everyday, whether you're at the office or not. Gross receipts from one truck can total up to $20,000+ per year. One could expect to have twenty to one hundred or more trucks in inventory depending on the market size.

2. Do I have to buy a truck or trucks? No. Some mobile AD franchise and Affiliate programs require you to buy a truck costing $50,000 to $100,000 or more when you join their national network. Then you have to hire a driver to drive in designated areas for 8 to 12 hours a day. With us, there are no out of pocket costs associated in building up an inventory of trucks other than your time and energy. You never have to buy a truck to be an Affiliate with us. Many of our affiliates do own mobile billboard trucks and prosper by belonging to the TruckAds network.

                                                               

3. What is my total investment to start? If you don't buy mobile billboard trucks, the cost for starting a business like this is relatively low, versus the return on your investment. It depends on your existing circumstances and whether you are already in business or just starting. There is no equipment to buy, unless you need office equipment. Your investment with us ranges between $60 and $120 a month for the service fee, plus the toll free phone charges. Service fee is based on the size of your market.

4. Is TruckAds ® offering a franchise? No. We are offering a license for the use of our Trademarks and Service Marks along with many other benefits. You will have the exclusive use of our toll free vanity number 1 800 TRUCK ADS® that will ring directly into your office from calls originating in your market area. (North America and Puerto Rico only) 800 toll free vanity numbers that are advertised aggressively can increase business by 30% or more without additional advertising. As a licensed Affiliate, your use of our licensed marks, the toll free vanity number and TRUCKADS® high visibility on the internet will help you generate new customers.

5. How hard will I have to work? If you are already in business for yourself, you know how hard you have to work. If you are just starting out as an entrepreneur, then make sure you understand, no matter what business you are going into, you must work very hard to succeed. You must have excellent sales skills, or employ talented sales personnel to effectively introduce and sell AD space. If you can sell AD space, your reward will be enormous.

                                                               

6. Do I need computer skills? In this day and age it is critical to be skilled with a computer. The media business is a high tech business. Graphic files are passed back and forth via the internet. TruckAds® online shopping cart provides an upload file transfer system for Affiliates and customers. You should be able to use email and contact management software and understand a little bit about graphic files and graphic software.

7. Is training provided? We encourage affiliates to take sales classes. They are available in most cities around the country. Our contribution to your success is mostly internet based, strategic and technical in nature. We also help you by providing heavily discounted banners and frames to Affiliates. Prices that are not available to the public. Most of the helpful information we provide is disbursed throughout the year, via the Affiliate section of the website and emails. Our goal is to help you succeed and we are constantly working on ways to help you accomplish this.

8. Will you teach me to sell AD space? From time to time we may recommend marketing seminars that might benefit you. You should already be skilled in generating business and closing deals. If you don't have the skill in these areas, you can hire sales people or take sales classes. We will share our methods and help you in any way we can and you are welcome to call or email us to learn from our mistakes and successes.

                                                                

9. What does an Affiliate License provide that I can't obtain by getting into truckside advertising on my own? Some of the benefits you'll receive from us that you can't get by doing this on your own are as follows:

10. How many ADS on trucks will my market support? It will support as many trucks as you can find advertisers. We offer such a diverse range of AD sizes and competitive rates that advertisers who have never tried mobile advertising in the past will utilize truckside advertising in their AD campaigns in your market area. It is a good idea to sign up as many truck companies as you can locate within your market. 11. How much do I have to pay the truck company when there are no ADS on the trucks? Nothing! That is one of many benefits that helps make this business so profitable. It is like owning rental property and not having to pay the mortgage until you rent the apartment to someone. The carrier contract only requires you to pay the truck company when ADS are displayed on the truck.

12. Can I work from home? Yes. In the long term you will probably want to move into an office building where your clients can meet you to discuss AD campaigns. Prior to that, you can always meet them in their office and much of the work is accomplished over the phone.

13. Is it hard to find truck companies that meet the requirements necessary to carry ADS? No. Truck companies are plentiful. Good truck companies are sometimes difficult to find, however we can help you find them with lists that we provide to you. Often times truck companies will seek you out in order to increase their bottom line. Many truck companies contact us online and we will forward those contacts to you for your use.

                                                               

14. Is it hard to find print companies and installers to do the work needed to succeed in this business? No. This is our area of expertise. Many TruckAds® Affiliates are printers and installers. Also, TruckAds® offers grand format printing online to Affiliates at prices attractive even to our printer affiliates. Our Affiliate online shopping cart also acts as an online order management system for each of your client jobs.

15. I own a delivery truck company. Can I be a licensed Affiliate? Yes. In fact, we believe delivery companies with small or large fleets stand to profit most as a licensed Affiliate. You already have a fleet of trucks and even if the fleet is small, you can and often do know other truck companies in the business to work with and create a larger group for the purpose of advertising. The key to the success of this business is teaming with a marketing/sales person(s) who can make sales calls and close deals.

16. If I already own a truckside advertising company, static billboard company, sign company, print company or an AD agency, can I be a licensed Affiliate? Yes. If you are a competitor in the truckside advertising business we welcome you to join. As a truckside advertising company or a static billboard company you already realize our annual service fee is reasonable versus the potential ROI. As for the rest of you in this category, your experiences could fit perfectly with truckside advertising. 17. How many companies are in the truckside advertising business throughout the United States? It is hard to know for sure. On the DMOZ.org directory website there are currently 55 companies listed as being in the mobile advertising business. Approximately 80% of those are providing truckside advertising services. Additionally, we are aware of about a dozen other truckside advertising companies.

18. Okay, what's the big deal about a Trademark? A good federal Trademark is worth its weight in gold. The Trademark application process took over 3 years and relatively speaking that isn't a big deal compared to the benefits a licensed Affiliate will receive using our Licensed Marks. 20. Is truckside advertising a viable business and who are Truck Ads™ competitors? Yes. It is a viable business and growing. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA.org) has formed the Transit Council to promote truckside advertising and outdoor mobile advertising in general. Also, you can visit the Alexa.com directory (while you're there, notice we are number 1) for mobile advertising and view a list of truckside advertisers. Our main competitors are metropolitan bus companies who currently get 98% of the mobile AD business. 23. What is a Designated Market Area (DMA) and can I get a license for more than one Market? Nielsen Designated Market Areas (DMA) are used by media research groups to identify TV stations whose broadcast signals reach a specific area and attract the most viewers. They map the entire US and are non-overlapping. Yes you can get more than one Affiliate license. You can get the license for an adjacent Market to where you live or in any other Market, as long as you can demonstrate your ability to work in the market.

24. What am I really paying for when I join TruckAds®? This question comes up often and it's a great question! Affiliates are paying for 6 major benefits when they join. These are benefits that if obtainable individually, would cost much more.

When you divide the (monthly) fee by 6, allocating 16.5% of the fee for each element, Affiliates are paying just $10-$20 per month for each benefit.
